Shipping Information...

Yes, we do ship.

Please be advised that shipping is costly, so if it is possible to make pick-up arrangements at a rabbit show, we recommend that.

Following are the costs that will be incurred over and above the sale price of the animals (and must be prepaid) prior to shipping animals to you:

  • Airline Approved Carrier (with feed & water cups) - $22 (1 hole), $38 (2 hole), $58 (4 hole)
(You can reduce this cost by shipping me your own carrier, but it MUST comply with Approved Airline Kennel Requirements.)
  • Health Certificate (and Acclimation Certificate if required) - $25 (for 1 - 6 animals)
  • Ground Transportation Charges - $25 (1 - 6 animals)
  • Air Cargo Charges - approximately $200 (minimum based on weight and dimensions of transport cage)

We use Delta Airlines as our carrier. You will need to provide us with the nearest major airport to you that Delta services. Shipping fee must be paid upfront when you pay for your rabbits. Why? Many times your animal(s) will arrive after the air cargo office closes. Only prepaid shipments will be released after hours. The rabbits have already been through a stress-filled plane ride in the cargo hold which most likely included a lengthy layover. We want you to be able to pick up your precious cargo and get them settled in their new home ASAP.

Though airline travel is very safe, we do insure the shipment to cover the cost of the rabbits and all related transport charges, at no extra cost to you.

Acclimation Statement

An Acclimation Statement is required when temperatures are forcast to be below 45 ° F.  at any point during the animal's trip. Delta will not accept animal cargo shipments if temps are 20 ° F.  or below (Anchorage, AK is the exception).  BECAUSE OF RABBITS SENSITIVITY TO HEAT, WE DO NOT SHIP RABBITS FROM MAY 15 - SEPT 15. We will deliver to shows, however, through June.

Airline Kennel Requirements

All kennels must be capable of loading upright in the aircraft bin as required by the Animal Welfare Act and the International Air Transport Association Live Animal Regulations.

Also, USDA rules state that the kennel must:
  • Be constructed out of rigid plastic, wood, metal, or material of comparable strength with solid roofs. No cardboard kennels.
  • Have wheels that can be removed or made inoperable (applies to wheeled kennels only)
  • Have functional handles on the kennel's exterior to prevent tilting and any direct contact with the animals.
  • Close securely, but not lock, allowing personnel to open it in case of emergency.
  • Have labels with the words "Live Animal" in letters at least 1-inch tall on the crate's top and on at least one side.
  • Have upright arrow labels indicating kennel's correct placement (Delta Air Logistics can provide these labels.)
  • Contain some type of bedding, either shredded paper or towels, to absorb any "accidents."
  • Contain two dishes (one for food and one for water) attached to the inside of the kennel door. They must be easily accessible to Delta agents without opening the kennel door.
  • Display feeding instructions and food, if applicable. These instructions should be affixed to the top of the kennel, along with shipper and consignee information.
  • Not be made entirely of welded mesh, wire mesh, wicker, cardboard or collapsible materials.
